Meta seeks to empower the people who use our platforms and believes in external accountability for the most difficult and significant questions we face on our products. This belief is why we have appeals for most violations and involve external opinions and feedback in our policy development process. It is why we took steps to set up the Oversight Board and continue exploring other forms of governance. All of these efforts make our products, policies, and enforcement more transparent, robust, and principled.
Meta created the Oversight Board to help us resolve some of the most difficult questions around freedom of expression online: what to take down, what to leave up and why.
Meta is committed to empowering users to have a greater voice in our innovation. Community Forums bring together representative groups of people to discuss tough issues and share their perspectives with the goal of improving the experiences people have across Meta’s platforms and technologies.
