We welcome the Oversight Board’s decision today, October 23, 2024, on this case which deals with a post shared to Facebook that includes an altered depiction of U.S. presidential candidate Kamala Harris and her running mate Tim Walz.
Upon initial review, Meta removed this content for violating our Bullying and Harassment policy, as laid out in the Facebook Community Standards. However, after the Board brought the case to our attention, we determined that we had removed the content in error, as it does not contain derogatory sexualized photoshop or drawings, and reinstated the post.
