We are committed to publishing regular updates to give our community visibility into our responses to the Oversight Board’s independent decisions about some of the most difficult content decisions Meta makes. These quarterly updates are designed to provide regular check-ins on the progress of this long-term work and share more about how Meta approaches decisions and recommendations from the board.
These updates provide (1) information about cases that Meta has referred to the board and (2) updates on our progress on implementing the board’s recommendations.
As we communicated in our Q4 2023 update, Meta and the Board made the decision to shift from a quarterly to a biannual reporting cadence for Oversight Board recommendation implementation work. This allows Meta Integrity teams to prioritize implementing the Board’s recommendations in spite of bandwidth and resource constraints and to align public reporting timelines with the per-half roadmaps our team's use internally to set goals and drive towards them. We expect this refreshed approach to lead to more fulsome and meaningful public progress updates and fewer repetitive appendix entries.
