Sale of Non-Endangered Animals and Endangered Species
Ads must not promote, donate, or gift products derived from threatened or extinct or endangered species. This includes both wildlife and plants.
Ads must not promote peer-to-peer sales or trade of live non-endangered animals, including ambiguous contexts where the nature of the sale or trade is unclear.
Ads may offer live non-endangered animals solely within the context of donations, rehoming, or adoptions.
Advertisers must follow our Community Standards, in addition to our Advertising Standards.
Guidelines
Ads can't:
  • Promote or offer or gift products derived from threatened or extinct or endangered species
  • Encourage poaching of threatened or endangered species
  • Provide instructions on how to use or make products from threatened or endangered species, or their part
  • Promote the sale of live non-endangered animals not clearly in an allowed context, listed below
Ads can:
  • Promote or offer live non-endangered animals solely within the context of donations, rehoming, or adoptions
  • Promote live non-endangered animals offered by a legitimate business, including retail businesses, breeders, auctions, animal rehoming services or shelters
  • Promote the sale of an animal for a religious offering or livestock.
  • Promote or offer a reward for lost pets, i.e., dogs, cats
  • Promote the sale of animal products intended for human consumption such as; fish, eggs and unpasteurized dairy products.
Note: Advertisers promoting products for human consumption are solely responsible for ensuring that their advertisements comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
