We restricted access in Indonesia to over 27 million items, the vast majority of which is for allegedly violating local laws on gambling such as the Electronic Information and Transactions (EIT) Law and KOMINFO Regulation 5/2020 on Private Electronic Services Operators. The gambling items were instances where we were obligated to proactively restrict content, at scale and in country, based on local law requirements. Only about 24,000 items were restricted for alleged local violations related to illegal gambling and the sale of regulated goods, and access to these items was subsequently restricted based on reports submitted by the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs (KOMDIGI).
Additionally, we restricted access to 51 items on Threads for alleged violation of local laws.
