We welcome the Oversight Board’s decision today on this case which deals with a video posted to Facebook featuring a clip of a televised interview with Qais Hadi Sayed Hasan al-Khazali, a politician, cleric and militant leader of Asa’ib Ahl al-Haq, an Iraqi Shia paramilitary organization and political party. The video included text overlay, “Exclusive Interview” and the accompanying caption contained the hashtag #IraqiNews.
Upon initial review, Meta removed this content for violating our Dangerous Organizations and Individuals policy, as laid out in the Meta Community Standard. However, after the board brought the case to our attention, we determined that we had removed the content in error and reinstated the post.
