We welcome the Oversight Board's decisions today, May 15, 2025, on this case bundle which deals with fifteen Facebook and Instagram posts featuring different types of breast cancer awareness content in the context of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The posts included illustrations depicting visible female nipples and breast cancer symptoms, images showing mastectomy scarring and nipple tattoos, and posts sharing personal experiences with breast cancer diagnosis and treatment.
Upon initial review, Meta removed this content for violating our Adult Nudity and Sexual Activity policy, as laid out in the Meta Community Standards. However, after the Board brought the cases to our attention, we determined that we had removed the content in error and reinstated all fifteen posts.
There will be no further updates to this case.
