We welcome the Oversight Board's decision today on this case which deals with a Facebook post criticizing Senegal's debt levels under former President Macky Sall that included the statement that Mr. Sall deserves "the public guillotine."
Upon initial review, Meta removed this content for violating our Violence and Incitement policy, as laid out in the Meta Community Standard. However, after the board brought the case to our attention, we determined that we had removed the content in error and reinstated the post.
There will be no further updates to this case.
